Empower Leadership Summit

Empowering leaders with design

Each year, Cosmo Prof hosts its annual leadership conference to align leaders and field teams on the coming year's vision. The goal was to develop personal leadership skills through the core action of Empowerment. We developed the brand naming the event, EMPOWER, while integrating the creative brief’s engaging YOUniveristy concept, transforming the summit into a collegiate experience. The resulting branding featured strong colors and collegiate-inspired logo badges that emphasized this journey of leadership education across all event materials.

The Logo

The leadership team needed a clear, unifying vision after a challenging year. I designed the EMPOWER logo, a visual anchor styled as a collegiate seal to represent the journey of leadership. The seal intentionally connects their history and future by incorporating names of past summits. Its powerful symbolism tells the team's story: flags recognize. achievements, the mountain acknowledges challenges, and the arrow signifies forward growth through perseverance. This visual narrative was deeply resonant; the team leader was moved to tears upon seeing the logo, confirming it perfectly captured their shared struggles and unified vision.

The System

Beyond the seal, the brand utilizes a simplified lettermark and a palette of bright and powerful colors and gradients. This vibrant color scheme was intentionally chosen to embody the concept of empowerment, conveying energy, optimism, and the bold, positive impact leaders have when they actively empower those they lead. These elements are integrated with topographic lines—a visual metaphor extending the concept of navigating and overcoming challenges together.

Conference Materials

Essential conference materials were developed, including notebooks and name badges, which utilized a color-coding system based on attendees' regions and departments. This design provided an immediate, visual way for attendees to easily find their "tribe" and facilitate new connections. For practical utility, a QR code was placed on the back of each badge, offering instant access to key event resources like the agenda, hotel information, and a digital notebook.

Stickers

Custom stickers—featuring icons and words—worked as a highly visible method for attendees to self-identify and celebrate unique accomplishments. Applied directly to name badges, these stickers provided a simple way for the community to recognize and connect with one another.

Venue

We translated the collegiate concept to the space by designing large-scale signage and banners. These were placed prominently in the lobby and throughout the venue to immediately immerse attendees in a "first-day" atmosphere of excitement. Crucially, this integrated visual system also served as intuitive wayfinding, guiding attendees seamlessly through the summit's different locations.

We provided speakers with easily integrated, fully branded PowerPoint templates for their large-screen presentations. This strategic move ensured all content—from keynotes to breakout sessions—maintained the summit's unified brand, utilizing consistent fonts and vibrant color palettes within their standard Microsoft application suite.

We established a comprehensive set of brand guidelines and assets, ensuring the external event agency could seamlessly extend the brand into additional experiences. This careful strategic oversight resulted in the creation of several engaging, photo opportunities designed for social media sharing, which directly amplified the event's message, memorializing learning and team connections.
